Fall is in full swing here in the north. We don’t have a fall season in Texas; we only have two seasons — hot and hotter. Somewhere between this past “hot” and “hotter” season, I saw an opportunity to be a part of something that will significantly change the way FSA does business by joining the MIDAS team in Washington, D.C. I have always welcomed change and now I have the opportunity to influence change as a member of the MIDAS team.
Before joining the MIDAS team, I was a CED in Fort Bend County, TX, which is located on the southwest side of Houston, about 75 miles from the Gulf of Mexico. The predominant crops are cotton, corn, grain sorghum, soybeans, and rice. I made the decision to join the MIDAS team because I felt I could provide some insight on how work was done at the field level and I was ready for a new challenge. I certainly found the challenge.
I have been assigned to work with Farm Records for MIDAS. A lot goes in to developing an integrated system and I have the good fortune of working with some awesome folks who are committed to making MIDAS work. I can say with great confidence that this team is focused on making day-to-day work at the county level easier and more efficient for the employees.
I look forward to our Go-Live date in the near future when the field will get to use the MIDAS tools and experience the enhancements that come with it.
