The MIDAS project is currently deep in testing efforts for MIDAS Deployment 1.0. There are several phases of MIDAS testing designed to validate that the MIDAS system will be fully functional and able to meet FSA program needs at Go-live. These multiple phases are performed with a variety of audiences and stakeholders to ensure that the system is thoroughly tested from many perspectives before the solution is released to the field. Some of these stakeholder testers include the MIDAS Functional team, MIDAS Super Users, the Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) team, Testing and Certification Office (TCO), and the FMMI team.
The current testing cycle is called integration testing. The purpose of integration testing is to verify that all of the functional, performance, and reliability requirements placed on major design components of the MIDAS solution are able to work together. Integration testing is a critical testing phase and is the first cycle where the MIDAS team is testing full system integration, including GIS and interfaces to other external systems.
The MIDAS testing team is working hard to ensure a comprehensive solution is delivered to all FSA employees. With multiple phases of testing and many stakeholders involved throughout the testing process, MIDAS aims to provide field office employees with a meaningful solution in Winter 2013.
